Black Friday

As we gobble down our turkey today many of wait and anticipate what some call the greatest day of the year, Black Friday.  Personally I don't care to run out the door at three in the morning to save a couple dollars.  To others though its exciting and fun.  What causes this excitement  is it money?  I would say partly so.  How can you beat saving hundreds of dollars even if you have to deal with huge lines and overcrowded stores.
Though I must say perhaps in deep inside love for others that really fuels this holiday.  Many of us know Santa clause doesn't really exist, but we still all want our loved ones to get what they really wish for.  For many of us this means finding that great deal, where we can actually afford that great gift.  On Christmas morning will see their faces glow up, and that appreciation and excitement is what fuels the Holidays and Black Friday.  We may have to fight and jump lines, but the gratitude we receive and the love we gain is the only fuel we need to grab a coffee and head out into the chilly cold Friday morning.

A Day of Travel

Today I woke up at 6, washed myself, clothed my self, packed my bags and headed for a day that I knew was a terrible miserable day.  Yet, I got myself ready, I knew I needed to go and even as bad as it my be, it was my responsibility to head home.  So I did I got on that train and headed to the Amtrak station. There I waited for three hours till my train came hoping, hoping that maybe today it wouldn't be so crowded.  Last yea I barely even found a seat.  To my surprise I found four seats open facing each other and i quickly grabbed a seat with a friend of mine.  I was excited for a moment to find this seat, grateful.  But, it was short lived, the train was once over filled, and I saw others once again with the same problem I had last year.  We realized we could not hog these seats and must allow others to sit with us.  Out of compassion we did, we suffered squished our legs together and didn't move for four hours.
I'm not trying to tell you a story about why I'm a great person, because I'm not one.  But, I'd like all of you to remember that as you may be miserable as you travel through this holiday, others will most likely be just as miserable as you.
